Sempena terbitnya filem GODZILLA VS KONG (GVK) pada bulan Mac 2021 nanti, cabang penerbitan syarikat Legendary Pictures – LEGENDARY COMICS – bakal menerbitkan dua komik prekuel berbentuk novel grafik, GVK: KINGDOM KONG dan GVK: GODZILLA DOMINION.

Kedua-dua novel grafik GVK: Godzilla Dominion serta GVK: Kingdom Kong akan mengandungi 96-muka surat dan dijual di pasaran antarabangsa dengan harga US$16.99 (RM68++).

GVK: Kingdom Kong

Seiring dengan filem Kong: Skull Island (2017) ditayangkan di pawagam sedunia, Legendary Pictures telah menerbitkan sebuah novel grafik berjudul Skull Island: The Birth Of Kong (April 2017) melalui cabang penerbitannya, Legendary Comics – untuk menerokai asal-usul gorilla raksaksa ini.

Kini pelukis komik Malaysia, Zid kembali untuk berkerjasama dengan penulis Marie Anello bagi menerokai bab terbaru di dalam legenda Kong yang bakal menjawab persoalan utama:

“Bagaimana dan mengapakah Kong tumbuh secara mendadak sehingga sebesar Godzilla dalam filem Godzilla Vs Kong?”

“A sequel to the graphic novel SKULL ISLAND: THE BIRTH OF KONG, and a prelude to the film GODZILLA VS KONG; the upcoming Kong prequel graphic novel will follow a group of highly skilled military pilots gathered together on Skull Island to see who has ‘the right stuff’ to take on a dangerous mission into the hollow earth. One of the pilots, Audrey, is haunted by the memories of a monstrous clash with one of Godzilla’s titanic rivals that left deep scars.

Legendary Comics telah menerbitkan dua novel grafik tentang Godzilla setakat ini.

Komik Godzilla Awakening (Mei 2014) oleh penulis Max Borenstein (Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island) mengisahkan tentang asal-usul Kaiju gergasi ini pada fajar Zaman Atomik, berdekad-dekad sebelum peristiwa di dalam filem reboot Godzilla (2014).

Manakala komik Godzilla Aftershock (Mei 2019) oleh penulis Arvid Nelson (Skull Island: The Birth Of Kong) dan kartunis Drew Johnson pula, merupakan prekuel kepada filem Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019).

Kini pelukis Drew Johnson kembali untuk berkerjasama dengan penulis Greg Keyes bagi menerokai persoalan utama:

“Apakah yang berlaku kepada Godzilla selepas dia mengumumkan dirinya Raja Segala Raksaksa di penghujung filem 2019?”
